bikes in arhus

bikes in arhus

notice they are not locked up. it's certainly not in d.c....

Are they open yet?

Are they open yet?

aggressive geese in arhus, denmark. don't even think about getting near that door until after the bakery lady inside feeds these hellians.

dresden, germany at night

dresden, germany at night

i stayed at a really interested hostel here. yes, interesting.

petersfield, england

petersfield, england

where's the taxis? i spent $40 in phone calls here trying to find a taxi. i did stop for a moment and took this photo from just outside the phone booth that so happily took my credit card. it was nice to see that the photo turned out so well.

l'abri in england

l'abri in england

kind of a dog's eye view of the place from the graveyard next door. i loved the shapes and chimneys. i called it the harry potter house.

meet george jetson..

meet george jetson..

famous seattle space needle that only makes me think of the jetsons. this was taken from the boat, while drinking some $9 drinks and pulling out of port. the $9 drinks... sigh.

red stair well art

red stair well art

there were 3 stairwells on the ship - red, blue, and green. i lived closest to the red stairwell, mid ship. between each deck, there was some kind of art with mirrors on each side. i thought the mirrors made a kind of neat, on and on and on feeling. if i remember correctly.... this is between deck 9 and 10.

cheesy poster photo

cheesy poster photo

i didn't want to take this photo. it's so typical of those cheesy greeting cards, calendars and posters that you see with those sappy phrases on them. but, at the same time -- it was unbelievably beautiful. i almost expected angels to start singing. but, alas, only the sounds of the market cafe buffet line were heard.

one, two mountains

one, two mountains

i realized that the glass railing that went around the deck of the boat allowed me to see the mountain through the glass and the mountain on the other side of the boat at the same time. of course this was just too cool in my mind. it's like having two sets of eyes and being able to watch two things separately and yet together. mind boggling.

kayaking near mendenall glacier

kayaking near mendenall glacier

in the middle of the photo is mendenhall glacier outside of juneau, AK. i asked our guide the name of the lake we were kayaking in. she replied, "the pacific ocean". she was nice and didn't make me feel too stupid. that was kind of her. sure looked like a lake to me. this was one of my favorite nature moments of the trip. the glacier, the ocean/lake, the weather, the seals that were bobbing their head up out of the water as they swam by, and the bald eagles. it wasn't city life - that's for sure.

boat track

boat track

this is the running track on one of the upper decks of the boat. this was taken in the morning as we were docking in skagway. the low fog was kind of neat. it cleared up later in the day and there was great sunny weather.

skagway

skagway

up in the mountains outside of the town of skagway, AK. there were lots of waterfalls as the snow on the mountains was melting with the warmer temps. i really like this photo for some reason.

majorie glacier

majorie glacier

i've always wanted to see a glacier. it was so cool. the ice sounded like shotguns in alabama as it broke away and then fell into the water. i could have watched it for hours.

alaksa

alaksa

speechless at the beauty of it all

breakfast beggers

breakfast beggers

walking around (in the wrong direction) in philadelphia one morning, i saw this. it made me smile so i took the photo.

religious liberty and pigeons

religious liberty and pigeons

i love this photo because it looks like it's making some sort of statement. i'm not sure what it is... but it's something. of course, it could just be saying that the pigeons are enjoying religous liberty.

love - sideways

love - sideways

love in philly park... rotated 90 degrees.. i'll have to figure out how to fix that... later.

taken at the art museum in philly, this is a reflection in the water fountain of a passerby.
